Purpose of the Job:
To operate excavators equipped with both road wheels/traction and hi-rail systems for construction activities on and around railway infrastructure. The operator ensures safe, efficient, and precise material handling while adhering to safety standards and operational protocols specific to rail and road environments.
Organizational Structure:
- Direct Supervisor: Site Equipment Supervisor / Construction Manager
- Functional Reporting: Rail Safety Officer / Site Logistics Coordinator
- Peers: Other Equipment Operators, Site Technicians
- Internal Customers: Civil Engineers, Site Supervisors, Safety Inspectors
Performance Measurements:
- Equipment Operation Efficiency – Timely and accurate execution of material handling tasks.
- Safety Compliance – Adherence to rail and road safety protocols with zero incidents
- Equipment Maintenance – Daily checks and reporting of mechanical issues
- Documentation – Accurate log of operations and maintenance activities
- Team Collaboration – Effective communication and coordination with site teams
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Israeli heavy equipment operator license
- Clean driving and operating record
Desired Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating excavators in construction or rail environments
- Familiarity with hi-rail systems and dual-mode operation
- Understanding of railway safety standards and signaling
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Experience working in high-risk and regulated environments
