About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated R&D Team Leader to join our engineering organization.
This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team management responsibilities, leading the development of a complex and scalable solution.
The ideal candidate will guide the team in building high-quality products while driving architectural decisions and ensuring strong engineering practices.

Responsibilities:
People Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead hiring processes and build a strong, high-performing team.
- Provide regular feedback to team and conduct 1:1 meetings to support professional growth, especially of junior team members.
- Facilitate and lead team rituals to foster collaboration, alignment, and continuous improvement.
Technical Leadership & Execution:
- Demonstrate proficiency in the team’s technologies and guide technical direction.
- Own the delivery of high-quality solutions, reviewing code and designs, while remaining fully hands-on.
- Drive sprint planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of features with high quality and low defect rates.
- Identify, communicate, and escalate risks and blockers to maintain progress.
Product & Collaboration:
- Understand the product and user domain, ensuring team work aligns with product goals and customer needs.
- Work closely with Product Managers, designers, and QA to ensure alignment and smooth development.
- Communicate updates and progress transparently to stakeholders.
- Adjust team priorities and plans in response to changing circumstances and constraints.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Encourage the team to experiment and try new approaches to solving problems.
- Explore and promote the use of generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to enhance coding, documentation, and daily workflows.
- Make data-informed decisions, balancing priorities, technical constraints, and business needs.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Team Leader managing software development teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.
- Strong architectural and system design skills.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable applications.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proactive, self-driven, and accountable personality.
- Passion for AI technologies and eagerness to integrate AI-driven solutions into products.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with AWS.
- Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL.
