Position Overview
We're looking for a strategic, execution-oriented Director of Global Procurement to lead our global procurement and commercial sourcing across direct and indirect domains.
Working at the intersection of Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Operations, you'll translate business strategy into scalable supplier partnerships, commercial excellence, and resilient procurement execution — driving strategic sourcing, supplier performance, business continuity, and long-term value in a fast-paced global technology environment.
This is a transformation role: you'll elevate procurement from an operational function into a strategic, value-creating business partner, using automation and AI to remove low-value work, building deep category expertise, and orchestrating complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations.
What You'll Do
- Lead global strategic sourcing across direct materials, hardware, software, cloud, and indirect domains - owning negotiations, contracts, pricing, and long-term supplier partnerships
- Manage hardware sourcing (electronics, components, EMS/contract manufacturing) and software sourcing (SaaS, Enterprise Agreements, cloud infrastructure)
- Develop category management strategies aligned with growth, scalability, and operational resilience, and partner early with R&D/Engineering on NPI, technology sourcing, and manufacturability
- Drive Procure-to-Pay excellence, governance, and process optimization through advanced ERP systems - leveraging automation and AI (e.g., automated routing and category-based approvals for low-value purchases) to free the team for strategic work
- Establish a domain-expert operating model where each category (IT, Marketing, R&D/Products, HR) is led by a subject-matter expert who drives value across the org
- Lead supplier performance management, QBRs, cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives, and TCO/business-continuity planning with Finance
- Identify and mitigate global supply chain risks and develop scalable Business Continuity Plans
- Build cross-functional coalitions: aligning requesters, Finance, Compliance, budget owners, and suppliers - and orchestrate complex negotiations and executive escalations
- Lead and mentor procurement managers, team leads, and buyers across global locations
Impact & Exposure
- Direct impact on product cost structure, supplier strategy, and operational scalability
- High exposure to executive leadership and global decision-making, connecting Operations, Marketing, GTM, Finance, IT, HR, and Business functions
- Ownership of significant global spend across thousands of annual orders and a growing direct-contract base — with the opportunity to build and scale a world-class procurement organization
Requirements
- 10+ years in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Operations leadership, including managing managers and global cross-functional stakeholders
- Proven global procurement experience across APAC, EMEA, and the US
- Strong HW background (electronics manufacturing, EMS, technological products) plus software/SaaS/cloud/Enterprise Agreements procurement
- Solid grasp of end-to-end supply chain and global logistics, with experience building global category and sourcing strategies
- Hands-on experience implementing or improving ERP/P2P systems (NetSuite, Zip, or equivalent)
- Strong commercial negotiation skills focused on long-term value, TCO, and continuity, plus proven supply-chain risk mitigation
- Proven track record transforming a procurement or operations function from tactical to strategic: a builder, with the ability to focus ~80% on scalable methodologies and ~20% on rapid hands-on execution
- High resilience and change leadership under pressure; exceptional coalition-building that drives consensus without antagonism
- Continuous-improvement mindset and self-awareness - ideally with multi-organization exposure that brings a broad toolkit and supplier base
- Strong analytical, data-driven mindset; excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural collaboration; high EQ in matrix organizations
- Fluent English (written and verbal); additional languages an advantage
