Elbit Systems is an international high technology company engaged in a wide range of programs throughout the world, primarily in the defense and homeland security arenas. We develop and supply a broad portfolio of airborne, land and naval systems and products for defense, homeland security and commercial applications.
We are looking for a Systems Engineer for laser based designation, marking and EO laser systems to join our multidisciplinary R&D team at our Rehovot site.
The position involves working on cutting edge laser technologies and integrating them into advanced multi disciplinary systems
Responsibilities
System definition, requirements management, technical reviews, integration, validation and transition from development to production in the field of laser based electro optical systems
System performance analysis, simulations, tradeoff studies, laboratory experiments and field tests
Technical leadership of multi disciplinary development teams (optics, lasers, mechanics, electronics)
Involvement in multidisciplinary R&D processes including design, development and characterization of laser systems (solid state and fiber)
Requirements
B.Sc. in Electro Optics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
M.Sc. – advantage (for Physics candidates M.Sc. is a must)
At least 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or 5 years of experience in a multi disciplinary R&D environment involving lasers
Knowledge and experience in optics and laser technologies (solid state and fiber lasers)
Experience in development processes including requirements allocation, technical reviews, integration, validation and transition to production
Experience leading multi disciplinary technical development activities
Experience in simulations – advantage
Familiarity with Systems Engineering tools – advantage
Experience in high power pulsed DPSS lasers or high power fiber lasers – advantage
Self learning ability, initiative, creativity and strong leadership skills
High proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Experience working with foreign and international clients – advantage
Willingness to travel abroad
