Electrolyzer researcher
Hydrolite is a leading company in the development of hydrogen-based electrochemical devices for generation of green electricity. The company is looking for a researcher in the field of anion-exchange membrane electrolyzer. The candidate will be in charge of research projects related to subjects such as electrolysis efficiency, identification of failure mechanisms, hydrogen crossover and device behavior under various operation profiles. He will be part of small team of researchers but will also interact with mechanical and process engineers using the input from the research to produce improved large size devices. By combining hands-on work and research skills in the fields of electrochemistry and materials science, the candidate will run lab-scale and larger size electrolyzer stacks, reports his findings and proposes rational pathways to improve the efficiency and lifetime of the device
: Role description
In-charge of routine lab operation: preparation of materials and components, assembly of electrolyzer of various sizes, testing of the electrolyzers, analysis and report
After training period and full understanding of the technology, will lead defined research projects
Report progress to the team, interact with other team members and plan next steps
: Requirements
BsC in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Chemistry
Minimum experience of 2 years in one of the following areas
Energy, chemical industry
Electrochemical devices – significant advantage
Water electrolysis – significant advantage
Previous experience in one of the following: advantage
Membranes or porous separator characterization
Gas and liquid transport in porous layers
Strong hands-on skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to independently plan, execute and analysis experiments
Team player
Project leader
Proficiency in spoken and written English
