Job is located in Rehovot.
We are seeking a talented MSc or PhD student to join our Photonic Integrated Circuits Lab.
The lab focuses on experimental research and development of silicon photonics and integrated electro‑optical devices, closely connected to future product technologies.
Responsibilities
Design, set up, operate, and improve experimental laboratory systems for characterizing photonic and electro‑optical devices
Perform hands‑on optical and electro‑optical measurements on photonic integrated circuits
Build and run experimental setups and take part in iterative experimental campaigns, from concept to validated results
Collect, process, and analyze experimental data with emphasis on physical insight and interpretation
Compare experimental results with theoretical models and numerical simulations
Identify experimental limitations, sources of error, and potential improvement paths
Document experimental procedures, data, and results in technical reports and presentations
Requirements
MSc or PhD student in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electro‑Optics, or a related field
At least one year of studies remaining
Background in optics, photonics, lasers, or electromagnetics
Strong inclination toward experimental, hands‑on laboratory work
Ability to analyze data, draw physical conclusions, and communicate results clearly
Independent thinking combined with effective teamwork in a research environment
Advantages
Prior exposure to silicon photonics or integrated optical devices
Experience with simulation tools such as Lumerical, COMSOL, or similar
Familiarity with experimental data processing using MATLAB or Python
