Function
As a Breeding Assistant in the R&D unit of Hazera, you will work closely with the Breeder and gain exposure to various markets, commercial perspectives, and decision-making processes. You will also learn to manage extensive cross-functional interfaces within a large global organization.
Job description
- Implement breeding programs, including sowing, planting, and laboratory tests.
- Support field observations and selections both locally and internationally.
- Train and supervise technicians and seasonal workers.
- Responsibility for all breeding support activities.
- Collaborate with local farmers and growers.
- Document, report, and monitor plant development in breeding plots.
- Track pollination team activities and perform pollinations in special programs.
- Maintain breeding software systems (field lists, lab tests, seed inventory, etc.).
- Coordinate with company laboratories and monitor test results.
- Working hours: 06:00 – 15:00.
What we expect of you
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Agriculture or Life Sciences.
- Valid driver’s license – mandatory.
- High level of English – mandatory.
- Background in genetics, molecular biology, and plant physiology – advantage.
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical programming – an advantage.
- Motivation for a role combining fieldwork with office tasks.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Office applications.
- Willingness to travel abroad 2–3 times per year.
