HP is looking for a Spare Parts Global Repair Centers Quality Engineer to to join our global Reverse and Repair team, and lead the quality strategy and policy for HP Indigo’s global Repair Centers, driving analytical, technical, and cross‑functional excellence that directly impacts customer experience.
Key responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Policy Implementation - Define and deploy quality standards, processes, and work methods across all Repair Centers. Lead quality audits, own and govern all quality processes including new supplier selection, jigs coverage, and approval of NPI and quality procedures.
End-to-End Quality Cases Ownership - Lead quality investigations for Dead On Arrival (DOA), Out of the Box Quality (OoBQ), and recurring failures by conducting structured RCA using 8D, A3, and 7‑Step methodologies. Drive containment, corrective and preventive actions to closure, and provide data and technical insights to prevent re‑occurrence.
Engineering Changes Support - Maintain continuous alignment with Engineering and Product teams to ensure timely implementation and communication of changes, requirements, and configuration updates to Repair Centers. Manage quality‑related waivers for parts, assemblies, and repair activities by reviewing, approving, or rejecting waivers requests. Support ECO implementation, repair process updates, and training. Ensure deployment and adoption of applicable quality procedures, requirements, and technical updates across global sites.
Quality Monitoring, Metrics & Continuous Improvement - Monitor and analyze Repair Center quality KPIs (DOA, OoBQ, Cases closure, CAPA performance). Create action plans based on KPI trends and investigation data, and lead improvement initiatives to reduce defect rates and increase repair reliability.
Support NPI - Validate Repair Center readiness and quality compliance for new spare parts, updated modules, ECO rollovers, and configuration changes, and support NPI quality deliverables as required.
Education, Skills, and experience
B.SC in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
4-6 years in quality, engineering, technical services, manufacturing technologies – must.
Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) – must.
Very strong technical background with Spare Parts repair/refurbish – advantage.
Hands-on experience with Printing industry – advantage.
Proven ability to lead complex activities, projects, and teams without formal authority.
Ability to read technical drawings, including geometric tolerances.
Experience with engineering processes: ECO, waivers, investigations.
Knowledge with measurement, calibration methods, and use of inspection tools.
Experience with PDM/PLM systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
10% travel
The position is defined for a two-year period with an option for extension
