Job Description
Position objectives to support the business objectives of our company in Algeria focusing on the macro perspective, working with Government and external stakeholders to shape policies, leading to an improved eco-system (legal, regulatory, procurement environment) conducive to our company business and advancing human health.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Policy & External Affairs:
- Responsible for building and maintaining influential relations with government officials, political decision policy-makers and other stakeholders at various levels in support of the company's objectives to create and maintain open communication lines, secure information exchange, constructive dialogue;;
- Improve business relationships at a macro perspective with influential policy makers policy-makers within the Heath and Economic arenas;
- Monitor the legislative and regulatory environment identify emerging issues of critical importance for our company business. Shape those issues through active and creative interventions, and provide strategic counsel to our company Management Team on their potential impact and opportunities for the business, especially during the subsidiaries’ annual budgeting, forecasting and planning process;
- To develop and co-ordinate multi-faceted advocacy/influencing strategies to promote, support, and/or defend primary business goals and policy objectives in close alignment with all other functions (cross-functional teams);
- To create and develop business contacts with key players/groups/structures. To build common ground, confidence and trust with the target audience and identify joint aspirations;
- To support our company in developing, collaborating and executing patient programs, maintain liaisons to patient groups patients, and help mobilize patients organizations around agendas that advance human health patient access to innovative medicines and vaccines, and support medical innovation.
- To act as our company’s point person to trade associations and patient groups. To develop relationships with other pharmaceutical companies in the market and participate actively in the activities of professional associations, including identifying impactful leadership roles for the members of the Management Team and agenda setting opportunities.
Corporate Responsibility:
- To support the development and implementation of corporate CR policies, strategies, and plans. To lead an internal cross-functional CR team to develop, implement, and co-ordinate CR programs, and partnerships.
- Develops and implements internal communication strategies and activities supporting the objectives of our company in Algeria as needed. Works closely with local country teams to initiate and implement internal communications activities to support the growth of business, build reputation for our company and improve internal communications;
- Develops and maintains internal and external websites of our company in Algeria.
- Develops and maintains our company in Algeria as per local regulation.
- Ensures alignment with EEMEA and Global Communications strategies for reputation management, employee communications, product communications and corporate communications.
BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:
Core competencies:
- At least 4 years of Previous work experience in the healthcare sector public policy.. Knowledge of Algeria pharmaceutical market and in-depth knowledge and interest in health environment and economy is an advantage. ;
- Graduate/Post-graduate academic degree in political science or other relevant field (health, medicine, law, communications);
- Experience in internal and/or external communication operation including PR, advertising and BTL companies;
- Highly customer-focused and strategic thinker, with excellent project management skills and flexible, entrepreneurial and innovative mindset
- Ability to understand complex political and inter-personal situations, and be able to influence their dynamics and outcomes;
- Ability to network effectively both internally and externally and to establish a high degree of credibility;
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, analytical and persuasion skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication in French, English and Arabic
- Strong leadership, project management and problem- solving skills taking interest of multiple stakeholders into account;
- Medical background and/or MBA is an advantage;
- Previous experience in a multinational company is an advantage.
