Role Description
Nova’s CTO Group is looking for a Physicist with broad exposure to multiple technologies, strong expertise in experimental ultrafast optics, and knowledge of semiconductor process control and fabrication.
As a New-Tech Physicist, you will conduct concept and feasibility research independently and in collaboration with external partners. Your work will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and integrating emerging technologies into Nova’s innovation pipeline.
Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
- Lead and conduct early-stage research projects to explore, validate, and develop new technological concepts.
- Identify emerging industry needs and scout, evaluate, and recommend disruptive technologies to address them.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including academia and industry, to drive feasibility studies and concept development.
- Influence Nova’s strategic direction by introducing novel, high-impact ideas into the technology portfolio.
Requirements
- Ph.D. (or M.Sc.) in Physics or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience in experimental ultrafast optics (e.g., femtosecond lasers, OPOs, pump-probe experiments).
- Proficiency in data analysis and algorithm development.
- Experience in optical and mechanical system design (advantage).
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and fab environments (advantage).
