The Head of Portfolio Strategy will drive critical initiatives to optimize Philips' business portfolio, ensuring capital is allocated to the highest-return opportunities, supporting sustainable, profitable growth. This role enables measurable shareholder value creation and alignment with corporate strategic objectives globally, and career development in alignment with organizational operational goals.
Your role:
Assess and benchmark the performance of Philips Businesses and New Product Innovation programs
Develop and implement frameworks to prioritize capital investments, and recommend actions for effective resource allocation to maximize ROI and shareholder value across Philips Businesses
Establish processes to implement effective resource allocation mechanisms in close collaboration with the Global Head of Strategy and M&A and other senior leaders across the organization
Measure the impact of capital allocations and ensure iterative improvements in line with global corporate strategy
Identify and analyse transformation and divestiture opportunities across the global portfolio of Philips, support decision making to action the opportunities and manage transformation and divestment projects in partnership with the respective business executives and M&A
Collaborate with regional leaders to tailor strategies to identify, analyze, and ensure resource allocation towards attractive country- or region-specific cross-business growth opportunities with measurable financial impact for Philips
Lead a high-performing strategy team and work in close partnership with the Global Head of Strategy & M&A, senior executives across Philips Businesses, and regional leadership. Stakeholders include executive committee members, the Board, and functional leaders across innovation, finance, and operations.
You're the right fit if:
Minimum 15+ years of experience in strategy, corporate development, private equity, or investment banking;
Significant leadership experience with enterprise-wide visibility;
Proven success in MedTech, healthcare, or life sciences industries;
Track record in capital allocation, transformation, and divestitures;
Strong analytical, financial modelling, and strategic thinking;
Effective change management and transformation leadership
High-impact communication and executive stakeholder influence
Ability to operate in a complex matrix with competing priorities
Leadership through influence across a broad organizational network
MBA or advanced degree in business, finance, science, or related fields
Experience in regulated clinical product innovation is a plus
Ability to scale strategy from vision to hands-on execution
Strong team development and cross-functional collaboration capabilities

Philips Transparency Details for Cambridge, MA, USA location
The pay range for this position in Massachusetts (MA) is $218,400 to $349,440.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
