Manufacturing Engineering Leader

Job Profile Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Leader is responsible for managing manufacturing engineering department group Managers, directing equipment development and process enhancement initiatives, designs long-term manufacturing strategy, co-defining sourcing strategy, advising on high-complexity processes, leading continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to established business processes and product quality in a highly regulated environment. The role develops, monitors, and adjusts the annual budget to effectively manage financial resources allocated to the engineering department's operations and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Spearheads engineering department group leaders, directs various diverse functions encompassing equipment development, process enhancement, maintenance, quality, and proposing/implementing methodological changes.
  • Leads the development of mid- to long-term manufacturing engineering strategies, finalizes resource and training plans, oversees analyses to ensure optimal capability allocation to projects, and takes the lead in succession planning initiatives.
  • Contributes to designing operations strategy, implements strategies for enhanced performance, and ensures alignment with objectives to achieve desired results are key responsibilities in optimizing operational effectiveness.
  • Participates in decision-making processes regarding whether to manufacture internally, procure externally or outsource certain aspects of production, weighing factors such as cost, quality, capacity, and strategic alignment to optimize operational efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Co-defines the sourcing strategy aimed at acquiring necessary tools, equipment, and manufacturing processes to support operational efficiency and meet production demands.
  • Utilizes professional project management techniques to identify and expedite critical path tasks in Design Change.
  • Collaborate with operations, IT, and quality teams to identify, design, and implement process enhancements.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering initiatives and manufacturing excellence goals.
  • Promote technological innovation, standardization, and best practices across production sites
  • Advises on highly complex processes and complex organizational challenges from a financial-technical perspective and ensures collaboration with the Finance & Accounting department to address financial-related topics such as cost prices, cost savings, capex, capital planning, and operational result analysis.
  • Leads continuous improvement, directs and sponsors projects for improving the manufacturability of products, applies lean manufacturing principles, leads streamlining of capital expenditures for recurring investments, and ensures optimized operations and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develops, monitors, and adjusts the annual budget to effectively manage financial resources allocated to the engineering department's operations and initiatives.
  • Ensures strict adherence to established business processes in align with all relevant regulations, ensures consistency, efficiency, and compliance across all operational and strategic activities, and leads resources, planning, quality, and cost (including Capex) for projects.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree/ Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Sciences, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience with Bachelor's OR Minimum 6 years of experience with Master's in areas such as Manufacturing/Operations, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Production Engineering, or Cost Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership experience in dynamic operation environment, Managerial experience- a must.
  • Experience in leading manufacturing processes and/or technological multi discipline projects.
  • Experience working in highly regulatory environment.
  • Broad technical knowledge and skills in various disciplines.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Work from Haifa site
