The Optical Metrology Division products are used for optical overlay metrology. The portfolio of products includes unique solution packages which are based on hardware and software systems to enhance yield and effectiveness. As a world leader in its field of expertise, the division's products are the most advanced in performance (measurement accuracy of nanometers and below), reliability, ease of use and compatibility with other KLA's products. Job Description

The Metrology Advanced Application Group is on the lookout for a dedicated Research Scientist with a strong theoretical foundation in physics, optics, and related fields. The ideal candidate will be adept at conducting both theoretical and data-driven research, as well as simulation-based studies. This role involves tackling problems of diverse scope, where data analysis necessitates the evaluation of various factors. The successful applicant will demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques to derive solutions and will be comfortable interacting with senior internal and external personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in theoretical and simulation-driven research within the realms of physics and optics. Address complex problems with a broad scope, requiring thorough data analysis and multi-faceted evaluation. Exhibit excellent judgment in the choice of methods and techniques for research and problem-solving. Collaborate effectively with senior colleagues and stakeholders, both within and outside the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering.
• A strong computational background with a keen inclination towards algorithm development.
• Proficiency in Matlab/Python for implementing research algorithms.
• A minimum of 2-4 years of research experience in either an industrial or academic setting.
• Prior experience in optical metrology will be considered an advantage.
• Fluent in English with exceptional communication skills.
• Leadership potential with the ambition and capability to assume future leadership roles.
