Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our HW group!
As a Mechanical Design Engineer on our team, your role will encompass the performance characterization and design of our next-generation multidisciplinary precision Optical Metrology inspection systems.
You will supervise the design process, covering mechanical requirements specification, feasibility studies, analysis and FEA modeling, conceptual and detailed mechanical design, detail drawings, DR’s & presentations, procurement and assembly of prototypes, POD’s, support prototype system integration and testing, and contribute to the product throughout all phases until its release.
Your responsibilities will include:
Generating innovative designs that incorporate precision mechanisms, pneumatic systems, opto-mechanical design, vibration isolation, cooling systems, clean-air and flow design, and electronic packaging.
Performing tolerance analysis, GD&T, error budgeting, and managing the flow up and down of requirements and design.
Performing finite element analysis, encompassing modal analysis, thermal analysis, and flow analysis.
Offering support for customer concerns, investigations malfunction of new designs, and support (including at customer sites and manufacturing support).
Minimum Qualifications
BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design in an R&D environment.
Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is an advantage).
Experience with FEA tools, such as ANSYS or SW simulation.
Strong understanding of physics, mechanics, and materials science.
Knowledge of precision mechanics design, including opto-mechanics, motorized systems and pneumatics.
Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing processes, including machining, sheet metal fabrication and welding.
Experience in the semiconductor or high-tech industry- advantage
Experience with Flow Simulation and Simulation Professional-advantage
Knowledge of vibration isolation methods-advantage
Knowledge of cooling systems design.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work efficiently under stress on multiple tasks.
Strong English oral and written communication skills.
