Senior Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper for our Tel Aviv office. This position is responsible for day to day financial accounting and assistance/coordination with audit and tax statutory compliance as well as some payroll-related activities. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely completion of all tasks in accordance with Israeli regulations and company policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Transactions:

Maintain an accurate general ledger

Prepare journal entries for all expenses and accruals

Ensure accurate tracking of vacation accruals, sick days, reserve duty and other benefits in accordance with Israeli labor law

Reconcile all general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
Assistance with Audit and Tax Statutory Compliance:

Coordinate and support annual statutory audit activities with external auditors, ensuring all required documentation and reconciliations are prepared and submitted on schedule

Assist with monthly VAT returns in compliance with Israeli tax authority (ITA) requirements, ensuring accuracy of input/output VAT calculations and timely submission

Assist with compliance with Israel corporate tax regulations, annual tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, and responses to ITA inquiries as needed
Payroll Coordination & Assistance:

Assist with monthly payroll tax reports (Form 102 and Form 126) to the Israeli Tax Authority, ensuring timely payment of withheld income tax and social contributions by the statutory deadlines

Coordinate year-end payroll activities including Form 106 (annual salary statement) distribution to employees

Coordinate between representatives regarding pension and employees, and maintain all required documentation for employee onboarding (new hires) and terminations. Fill out all support documents on local portals as necessary

Assist employees with pay slips, documentation and questions
Requirements

5+ years of progressive accounting experience in Israel

Proficiency with Israeli accounting software systems

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work product

Fluency in Hebrew and English (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar cloud-based ERP systems.

Payroll experience

Experience working in a multinational organization with US GAAP reporting requirements

Knowledge of transfer pricing regulations and documentation requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional certification.

Israeli Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working toward certification
This is a hybrid role based in our Tel Aviv office, with three on-site workdays per week.
