Who We Are & What You’ll Own
Fig leads the Security Operations Resilience movement – keeping detection and response working through constant change. Fig finds and fixes broken security flows across the SecOps stack, and enables security teams to quickly design, simulate, and deploy planned initiatives.
In this role, you will be the core authority for our Multi-Cloud strategy, driving the architecture and implementation across both GCP and AWS. You will play a critical role in ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and resilient, while acting as a mentor and knowledge center for other engineers as the team grows.
As our first dedicated DevOps hire, you will own our infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud operations from the ground up.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the design and implementation of a robust Multi-Cloud architecture (GCP & AWS), serving as the domain expert and establishing cross-cloud standards and best practices.
- Design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure using Terraform to ensure high availability and seamless scalability across multiple providers.
- Build and optimize robust deployment pipelines from scratch to support rapid iteration and high-quality software releases.
- Implement best practices for cloud security, identity management, and infrastructure hardening within our cybersecurity-focused environment.
- Manage and scale our Kubernetes clusters and containerized environments to handle complex security data processing at scale.
- Establish comprehensive logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure maximum uptime and proactive system reliability.
- Work directly with the founding engineering team to influence architectural decisions and provide guidance and training to other engineers on Multi-Cloud methodologies.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE).
- Multi-Cloud Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience managing core services across both GCP (GCE, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC) and AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS).
- Containerization Mastery: Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
- IaC Proficiency: Proven experience with Terraform (preferred) or Pulumi for managing complex, multi-provider environments.
- CI/CD Tools: Expertise with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python or Bash.
- Cybersecurity Mindset: Background in security best practices (DevSecOps) is a major advantage.
Leadership Qualities: Ability to take full ownership of a domain, lead technical initiatives, and mentor team members.
