We are a fast-growing stealth cyber startup, backed by Team8, on a mission to solve one of the most critical challenges in the modern cyber landscape. We are looking for a brilliant Backend Engineer to join our core team and help architect, build, and scale our platform from the ground up.
Role description
We are looking for a strong Software Engineer to join our core team, become a true partner in building the product end‑to‑end, and take a key role in architectural, technological, and implementation decisions.
This is a hands-on role in a small team, with a lot of responsibility, autonomy, and influence over the technical and business direction.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑scale Backend / Full‑Stack services in a cloud environment.
- Design and implement Microservices architectures and distributed processes.
- Work with data systems, databases, and messaging / event‑driven architectures.
- Integrate with a variety of security, IT, and cloud tools and systems.
- Own features end‑to‑end – from technical design, through implementation, to deployment and production metrics.
- Work closely with Product and Research teams to translate security problems into working product.
- Take part in key technology choices, tools selection, and team standards.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of hands‑on software development in Backend or Full‑Stack roles.
- Practical experience with at least one of the following languages: Go / Python / Node.js.
- Experience building distributed and cloud‑native systems (AWS / GCP / Azure).
- Hands‑on experience with Docker and container‑based environments (Kubernetes – strong advantage).
- Solid understanding of System Design, architecture, and how to build scalable, fault‑tolerant systems.
- Experience with databases – SQL and/or NoSQL, including schema and data‑model design.
- Fast learner, independent, with strong ownership and end‑to‑end delivery mindset.
- Pragmatic, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a small, dynamic team.
Nice to have
- Practical experience in Cyber Security – security products and/or working with security teams.
- Experience with event‑driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka / RabbitMQ / NATS or similar).
- Knowledge or experience with AI / LLMs and integrating them into production systems.
- Experience with observability – monitoring, logging, and tracing (Prometheus / Grafana / ELK, etc.).
- DevOps experience.
- Previous experience in an early‑stage startup.
