We have an excellent opportunity to join our Vision Care team in an Rx IT System Support role. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing and supporting the internal manufacturing and retail ordering software. A significant aspect of the role is integrating optical theory into software design and production management systems, requiring close collaboration with the Rx Technical Development Manager. Additionally, the role demands a solid understanding of project management, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external software development teams.

Key responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Analysis of business and user requirements for systems enhancements to support the introduction of new equipment and processes
  • Preparing detailed technical documentation tailored for software developers to implement changes effectively.
  • Conducting system testing and validation
  • Developing and maintaining user manuals and training materials for new features, system updates, or process changes.
  • Delivering user training to employees
  • Performing data extractions and generating reports as required
  • Overseeing the full lifecycle of software development projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business needs
  • Providing 1st and 2nd level user support for Rx systems
  • Acting as a key communication liaison to facilitate IT enhancements, address inquiries, and provide support

Key skills required for this role include:

  • Minimum Level 2 Help Desk Support experience (Desktop, Laptop support, resolution of software installations and configuration)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products
  • Experience in Training, mentoring, coaching and developing knowledge through proven research
  • Strong Communication skills
  • The ability to create and develop documents that are well written and that can be used as a reference for the life of the software
  • The following experience is also desirable:
    • Previous programming experience
    • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or similar
    • A working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio
    • Previous project management experience
