Description
We are looking for a Maintenance & repairs department Manager that will handle the following:
Determining Zim's Equipment Technical Specifications, including analyzing equipment developments and manufacturing techniques.
Managing production quality inspections, according to a project plan.
Optimize spent related to containers repairs, handling & storage. Define containers specifications, repair guidelines & depots audits.
Ensure adequate reefer parts on board vessels and 24/7 technical assistance
Major areas of responsibility
Maintenance & Repairs
- Establishing the Company's policies & Procedures related to Maintenance & Repair:
- Inspection & repair policy for all equipment types.
- Recovery policy for damages caused by a 3rd party.
- Depot audits and visits policy (by internal & external entities).
- Defining the Company's policy of allowed cargos and stuffing methods in the Company's equipment, in coordination with Head Office (H/O) Units: Global Hazardous & Special Cargo, Claims, Insurance & Loss Prevention and commercial entities.
- Defining containers’ total-loss criteria
- Provide technical support to Insurance & Claims prevention division
Budget and Performance
- Preparing the Company's annual MNR (including 3rd party recovery), storage and handling budgets and monitoring/controlling the actual performance of the Regional Logistics and Agents, compared to the budgets.
- Setting and managing initiatives and projects for reducing expenses.
- Verifying that expenses are reflected in Zim's costing system.
Equipment New Building
- Determining Zim's Equipment Technical Specifications, including analyzing equipment developments and manufacturing techniques.
- Managing production quality inspections, according to a project plan.
Drive technology improvements
- Review and implement new tools and platforms to enhance container fleet technical mgmt.
- Set up new reefers service center
Requirements
- An academic degree – must, Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / MBA- an advantage
- At least 7 years’ experience in shipping industry in favor of logistics/ operational roles
- Technical & systems oriented
- Excellence technical knowhow in containers & related technologies
- Previous Managerial experience and experience with management of cross company projects and processes
- High level of control in English language (Speaking, reading and writing). Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
- Control in Office tools, Excel and Power point.
