Description

We are looking for a Logistics Specialist who will play a key role in supplying the required equipment to the demand locations at the lowest cost. In addition, his/ her role is to analyze and take corrective actions and optimize the supply to meet the commercial trends and operational constraints. The Logistics Specialist also provides analytical support to logistics senior management, by carrying data analysis, cost control activities, budget performance reviews, KPIs calculations, etc.

Major areas of responsibility

Logistics & Equipment Management

  • Design, execution, and control of the supply of empty containers with minimum cost, in coordination with commercial and operational factors, while examining all alternatives.
  • Involvement in logistics processes across the company, such as changing vessel rotation, vessel utilization and allocation of empty containers.
  • Manage logistics processes, matching equipment inventory to its availability to support the Company’s commercial activity with minimum cost.

Planning & Development

  • Budget and control of container inventory required for the various shipping lines.
  • Budgeting and control of balance costs for the trade areas and shipping lines.
  • Leading the annual budget preparation process of equipment requirements & balancing costs, including the budgeted debit per line.
  • Preparing balancing & equipment monthly performance reports (actual vs. budget reports) and presenting to management.
  • Issuing monthly debit per line reports of balancing & equipment costs. Supporting BUs inquiries.
  • Preparing & distributing balancing debit forecasts.
  • Leading balancing ZIMAPS versions, including reviewing and updating balancing sign changes & balancing costs.
  • Carrying P&D studies, economic analyses, and data research of logistics activity and costs.

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Issuing periodic reports and KPIs, including stock report, non-movement control report, vessels utilizations KPI, RTR report, full-empty ratio, etc.
  • Designing & implementing control tools & reports as per logistics management requirements.
  • Costs calculations and cost analysis.
  • Managing IT business requests and development of enhancements and bug fixes in LOG systems.



Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • High English language skills
  • Previous experience in analytical role – an advantage
  • Experience in Logistics – an advantage
  • Strong MS office skills – in particular, Excel
  • Ability to carry out a plan, analyze & execute
