Description

We are seeking a Business Unit Costing Analyst

BU finance is a “tool” for consistent improvement by providing analysis and presenting situation in a clear fashion, with responsibility to reflect the Business Unit’s financial results

Main Tasks:

Day to Day Activities and Forecast monitoring

  • Controlling the process of creating the line’s P&L for each voyage and performing forecast updates on a daily basis.
  • Updating the forecast on a daily basis, comparing and analyzing the gaps between the current forecast vs the previous forecasts.
  • Provide actual P&L for each voyage including its full analysis
  • Perform ongoing analysis of the BU financial data to provide significant inputs to improve P&L’s accuracy and the BU results.

Optimizing and controlling BU costs/revenues

  • Deep analysis and full understanding of cost items – constant monitoring to identify trends & cost improvement opportunities
  • Standard Cost versions analysis to identify changes that will directly impact the line’s result
  • Challenge cost items from Operation / Procurement / Logistics / LT. Analyze implications of cost items and to improve cost structure
  • Analyze cargo mix, to identify potential of revenue increase and improve performance
  • Improve fixed and variable costs when possible, and identify alternatives to existing items

Budget preparation & monitoring

  • Preparing the line’s budget
  • Monitor actual vs. budget / forecast vs. budget analysis of the line, and provide gaps explanation. Raising gaps to the BU management
  • Accountable for improving forecast and budget processes to improve accuracy and reduce gaps vs. actual

Voyage account (P&L) analysis

  •  Closing all voyages accounts in PA systems, performing interline accounting and working with all relevant units
  • Work with accounting to track PA vs. accounting gaps
  • Get inputs of non-manifest income, demurrage, storage and rebates in order to allocate on the line’s P&L



Requirements

  • An academic degree in Economics/Business management/Industrial Engineering Management or related fields
  • Knowledge in ZIMBI system
  • Full control of office tools, Excel in particular
  • Excellent control of English
